Vino and Wine at the "Roseto del Drago" is an event organized by Antonello Cassan, publisher of Liberodiscrivere® cultural association editior and host of the "Roseto del Drago", a holiday home in Ponte in Valtellina, dedicated to good wine, books, to good weather, to the terroir of Valtellina and its history. Wine to wine and time to time, with glasses filled with stories and sharing, without haste.
The participating wineries: Balgera Vini, Pizzo Coca, Marino Lanzini, Nicola Nobili, Sasso Vivo and Le Strie, with an important selection of their wines available for tasting.
In combination with local wines, we will be offering tastings of the local specialties by Salumificio Moltoni, Gastronomia Ghiottone by Caterina Ramponi and Mieleria Moltoni by Peter and Renata Moltoni.
The organizer, who sees wine as a book to read, has chosen these producers to tell the story of the terroir, of their work in the vineyard and cellar without compromise and courageously reaching the highest levels of quality. Great-grandfather Carlo Gerosa was the last of the family to produce wine until 1925.
Welcomed by wine in the wide spaces of the Cassan house architectural complex, dating back to 1400, you will be surrounded by vineyards and your will enjoy a succession of grassy slopes, stone walls, roses, hydrangeas, aromatic plants, vegetable garden and orchard. You will be pleasantly surprised by a fairytale setting overlooking the Orobie Alps and the unique scenographic backdrop of Valtellina.

The winemakers will be introduced to the participants during talk shows in an authentic and informal approach, through interviews from the "living room" and never in the "chair" in search of curious details and true stories. An exchange of thoughts and impressions between protagonists and participants, with the aim of enriching the wealth of knowledge and sharing a cultural and convivial moment at the same time. The structure of the building, with open rooms, arcades, cellars and gardens naturally creates a flow of people and souls, in a dynamic and energetic dimension, favoring encounters, cultural and experiential exchanges.
Sara Missaglia, journalist, sommelier and expert taster of the Lombardy Region, conducts talk shows and wine tastings along with the producers.
The fil rouge (being Valtellina, this is the only one colour!) that will liaise territory, wine and protagonists will also include art, history and culture through encounters and contaminations from neighboring worlds: the Valtellinese literature in particular on wine and territory will be exhibited in the Liberodiscrivere® bookshop /cellar curated by the bookseller Erik Viani - Libreria del Viaggiatore alongside Nello Bongiolatti, the agronomist of the Fojanini Fondazione and author of the book “Valtellina, terra di vite e di vino: Chiavennasca la sua gemma più preziosa”.
The History of Valtellina Wine will have a moment of in-depth analysis with the projection of photographic and historical material by Sara Missaglia with the extraordinary contribution of Augusta Corbellini, president of the Società Storica Valtellina followed by a unique aperitif: the Vin de Ca’, (house wine) with special Guests Michele and Dario Battoraro and their passion for wine.
We will also have an exceptional testimonial: 700 years after Dante’s death he will virtually guide us on the road through the terraces of Hell to discover the cellars, with three cantiche for six producers and their wines on a journey in stages without luggage and with a glass in hand. Whether they are circles, bolge, frames or skies we will experience some beautiful ones.
Access to the event is free and will take place in full compliance with the anticovid rules with green pass and exclusively by reservation at E-mail vinowine@liberodiscrivere.it - mobile +393356900225
